A HOST of unsung heroes from across Tendring have been honoured.
The 21 recipients of the Pride of Tendring Awards – which was held for the first time two years ago - have been revealed.
John and Jen Upson picked up one of the awards.
John has lived in Great Bromley for 26 years and worked for the London Fire Brigade until he suffered a series of injuries and had to leave.
Following a family illness, John and wife Jen decided to set up and run a stall in their driveway to raise money for St Helena Hospice.
The stall runs throughout the year selling fruit, flowers, vegetables, jigsaw puzzles and books.
All the produce is grown from their own garden or donated by neighbours and friends.
Over the last seven years they have raised more than £4,500.
