BURGLARS ransacked a home in Harwich after smashing their way in.
The break-in happened at a flat in Stour Road, close to Canning Street, during the day on Monday.
The crooks smashed their way through the glass section of the back door of a flat.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Inside, they ransacked the property and stole including power tools, cash and an old mobile telephone.
“A forensic examination of the scene was conducted as were house-to-house enquiries.”
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call detectives at Clacton police station on 101.
