A LIFE-SAVING charity is calling on people to watch a short film for their New Year resolution.
St John Ambulance wants people to see its six-second video and learn the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest.
The charity hopes if people can recognise the basic symptoms of a heart attack then a much more serious cardiac arrest - in which the victim’s heart actually stops.
The symptoms of a heart attack are known as the Four Ps: Pain (in the chest), Pulse (rapid or weak), Perspiration, and Pale skin.
Sue Killen, chief executive of St John Ambulance, said: “We want to give people the chance to make an achievable – and potentially life saving - New Year’s resolution.
“Help us reduce heart attack deaths by watching our quick steps on how to spot a heart attack, and share it with your friends.
“We hope it isn’t, but this could be the year you need to use it.”
