SPEED cameras urgently needed on an accident blackspot have been delayed as there is no way to power them.
The speed limit on the A120 between Hare Green and Pellens Corner is set to be cut from 60mph to 50mph.
But cameras are needed to enforce the restrictions while designs are drawn up for a multi-million pound roundabout.
Furious campaigners have hit out at highways bosses for “dragging their heels" with the short term safety improvements.
An e-mail sent to a campaigner by Andy Jobling, asset manager for the Highways Agency, has revealed installation of the safety cameras was proving to be a challenge.
He wrote: “It will not be possible to provide a permanent power supply for the safety cameras until early next year [2014]."
