A DISABLED woman has said she is living a ‘nightmare’ after not being offered help at home after breaking her leg.
Rose Ketley, of Stourview Close, Mistley suffered the broken leg on December 7 and was taken to Colchester hospital where she was given a full leg cast.
Rose, who had polio as a child, has not been offered help at home by the NHS.
She has to rely on a friend to help her out of bed and help her to the toilet.
She said: “I asked the hospital for some support services – someone to come in at lunchtime and make sure I am alright.
“But I was told I was not entitled to it.
“They wanted me to stay in hospital – but I am not ill, I have a broken leg."
A spokesman for Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust said: “This is the first time that we have heard of her concerns and we would encourage Ms Ketley to contact us so that we can carry out a full investigation."
