A DISTRAUGHT daughter has hit out after her elderly mother was left waiting for an ambulance for more than three hours after she fell and hit her head.
Jean Jordan, 79, fell over and hit her head whilst at home in Oakley Road, Ramsey at 5pm on Saturday but paramedic crews did not arrive on the scene until 8.15pm.
Lesley Jordan, was staying with her mother at the time and was disgusted nobody was able to get out sooner.
“I find it absolutely disgusting. Apparently the ambulance had to come from Colchester.
“How can there not be an ambulance available to come to the area in three hours? It makes you wonder what would happen if there was a huge accident in Harwich how they would cope.
“I was told because she was conscious, she was in a lower category than others but she is nearly 80 years old.”
