AN iconic cafe with panoramic views of the River Stour has reopened.
The Gallery Teashop – formerly known as the Mistley Quay Cafe – is run by Liz Cooper.
Liz’s mother-in-law ran the Gallery Teashop in 1986 before it was leased out to other people.
Now Liz has refurbished the cafe and reverted to its original name.
It is being run in conjunction with Cooper’s Gallery which is in the same building and sells the work of local artists.
Liz has run the gallery since 2006 following the death of her husband Benn in 2002.
She said: “It is a completely new kitchen – it is very much more open and it looks completely different."
