A NEW discount store is set to open this year.
Home Bargains had proposals to build a store on land adjacent to the Gateway Retail Park in Dovercourt approved by Tendring Council in January 2013.
Initially it was thought that the store would be open by Christmas however store chiefs believe they will start trading in 2014.
The 1,160sqm site will create more than 40 jobs and sell everything from food and drink to furniture and toys.
A spokesman for Home Bargains said: “The store is on track to open sometime in 2014. We have a planner which we work to and the Harwich store is on that.”
