Vera says laughter helped her reach 100 years old
A FORMER governess who was instrumental in fundraising to build a village hall has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Vera Millbank has lived in Dovercourt for 20 years but raised her family in Eight Ash Green near Colchester.
Along with her builder husband Vera helped bring about the village hall in Eight Ash Green, which opened in 1948.
In 1993 she moved to Dovercourt to be closer to her daughter and son in law.
“I put the secret of long life down to trying to see the funny side of things,” she said.
