A WORRIED mother has claimed mould lingering in her council-owned property is making her daughter ill.
Amie Stannard has lived in the house in Waldergrave Way, Lawford for four years with her five-year-old daughter Jessee and believes the poor conditions are a health risk.
“She is coughing in bed at night and sometimes she is even sick in her bed,” she said.
“Jessee has been brought up in this house and it isn’t fair on her to live this way.”
Tendring Council's assistant development and building manager Steve Pearce said: “In 2011 a positive pressure system was installed.
“In December 2013 the tenant called to report mould and a specialist company was sent in.
“In light of the most recent complaint we will send a specialist to check the system.”
