ALMOST four million black bags for household rubbish will be delivered to homes across Tendring over the coming weeks.

Residents are urged to keep an eye out for their supply as the deliveries will be made to more than 60,000 households across the district.

The operation began on January 20 and the target is to have all bags delivered by March.

The authority said waste contractors Veolia Environmental Services will have a dedicated crew and a supervisor out on the job, trying to ensure that no one misses out.

Each household is also being asked to remember to put their bags of waste out before 7am on the day of collection.

“We would ask all our residents not to put their waste out ahead of the collection day as it can cause significant problems,” said Nick Turner, cabinet member for the environment.
