YOUNG jazz enthusiasts are being encouraged to enjoy monthly concerts with the introduction of younger bands and a new ticket deal.
The Electric Palace, in Harwich, runs regular jazz concerts including ragtime, New Orleans, and Kansas City jazz as well as European and Afro-Cuban styles.
But Chris Strachan has plans to tailor some of the features in the venue’s jazz calendar to a younger audience, after noticing more teenagers and people aged in their early 20s frequented the events.
“We have decided to encourage this trend by booking in bands with some established younger players and introducing a half-price ticket for under 25s, with a minimum level of £5,” he said.
The next jazz concert is on February 20 at 8pm, when The Gambit Jazzmen will perform.
