Tory councillor defects to UKIP
A TOWN councillor has defected to the UK Independence Party (UKIP).
Hugh Thompson of Harwich Town Council has decided to leave the Conservative Party and will be standing as Harwich and North Essex UKIP branch secretary in next week’s AGM.
Chairman of the Harwich and North Essex UKIP branch Mark Cole said: “We are delighted to welcome Hugh to our growing team here in North Essex.”
