A REVIEW into maternity services has been delayed so it can be discussed by a hospital trust.

The shake-up to maternity services in Harwich was expected to go before the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning board at a meeting next week.

However the options are yet to be discussed by the board of directors at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust.

The directors are expected to discuss the plans next month.

Once the proposals have been discussed by CHUFT they will then be formally progressed at a later CCG board meeting, expected to be the next meeting in March.

A spokesman for the CCG said: “The Board of Directors of Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust is expected to discuss the North East Essex Maternity Services Redesign when it meets next month, so it will not be formally progressed at the CCG Board in January.”
