PLANS for an ‘exciting’ £45million development which is set to revitalise Harwich could be just weeks away from submission.

The Harwich Valley complex would see 250 homes, warehouses, shops, cafes and restaurants including a drive-thru and a multiplex cinema built on land between the A120 and Main Road in Dovercourt.

It was understood the developers had hoped to submit an application to Tendring Council by the end of this month.

However ecology and environmental studies are currently being carried out making a February or March submission date more likely.

Carl Minter, from Harding Estates, development manager for the scheme, said: “We were delighted that so many local people took the time to visit our exhibition late last year.

"We are continuing our work to finalise the detail of the application and hope to submit it in due course.”
