MEDIA students were given a taste of what it is like to work in the music business as they made music videos for up and coming rockstars.

Sixth form pupils from the Harwich and Dovercourt High School were visited by Swedish four-piece The Spin before Christmas who are trying to crack the UK market and were tasked with making videos for one of their tracks.

The band returned to the school on Thursday for students to pitch their ideas and perform a lunchtime concert.

Philippa Parks, head of media at the school said: “The whole process was how it would be in the industry with groups making videos and presenting them to the band,” she said.

“The Spin were delighted by the options they were given and were supposed to pick a winner to put on their website but they loved them all.

“Then at the concert the hall was absolutely packed with 250 students and lots more staff. They were brilliant.

“I am a very popular teacher at the moment because I am with the band.”
