Youngsters and parents staged a sponsored skate in a bid to raise money for a cash-strapped rink.
The Dovercourt Skating Rink was hit by crippling charges after a youngster broke his ankle and sued.
Insurance costs soared from £2,800 to a massive £12,000.
The rink desperately needs £1,000 to stay afloat so supporters banded together to try bridge the shortfall.
Organiser Andrea King said: “We are just trying to raise as much as we can to keep it open."
