A BREAK-in at a high school has been described as simply “strange” after laptops were used but not stolen.
PC Jude Currie listed the crimes in Lawford during December at the latest Lawford Parish Council meeting.
“There were four incidents for December, which is quite low compared to previous months we’ve had,” she said.
“Between December 6 and 9 was a burglary other at Manningtree High School at the former Stourdale Centre, which is now the school’s computer and drama site.
“They gained access through the window, took out laptopns, used them and then replaced them but not where they should have been."
Other crimes included equipment stolen from a vehicle in Causeway End, a catalytic converter stolen from a vehicle in Harwich Road, and a Ford Focus stolen from the roadside in Harwich Road after breaking down.
