CALLS have been made for more road sweeping to protect cars from loose chippings.
Resident Tony Merritt raised concerns at the latest Lawford Parish Council meeting about planned resurfacing work on Long Road between Cox’s Hill and New Road.
“I hope its not going to be like what was done in New Road in Mistley," he said.
“You go down there now and chippings are still flying around. I was hit by one today when a vehicle coming the other way. We need more sweeps more often.”
Parish and county councillor Carlo Guglielmi, said he took on board the comments.
“I think more sweeps is a good point," he said.
