CALLS have been made for a review of the controversial part-night lighting scheme which has been delayed for two weeks.
Harwich councillors have now raised major concerns about shift workers and pubs that are licensed to remain open beyond 12am.
Fears were also raised people working shifts in the town’s care homes could be at risk.
At the latest town council meeting, Ivan Henderson said: “It is going to prevent people from going out and enjoying themselves."
Jamie Shrive, landlord at the Stingray pub in Church Street, said: “There are four or five pubs in Church Street and Kingsquay Street – the council have a duty to make sure people can walk home safely.”
