THE mother of a man left in an induced coma for a month after medics gave him 50 times the recommended dose of a drug has launched legal action.
Joe Whitson, from Dovercourt, was rushed to Colchester General Hospital after suffering a major seizure.
A spokesman for Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust, which runs Colchester General, said: “We are sorry to hear that the family still has some outstanding concerns following Mr Whiston’s time at Colchester General Hospital in March 2012 and would urge them to contact us.
“The trust received an initial complaint in August 2012 and investigated it as a serious incident. Trust representatives met with the family and formally responded in writing.”
