YOUNGSTERS did not have to travel far to get a glimpse of history for their latest school project.
Pupils from Spring Meadow Primary School, in Dovercourt, spent the day visiting the Maritime Museum at the Low Lighthouse, the Treadwheel Crane and the Lifeboat Museum on Tuesday.
Colin Farnell, chairman of the Harwich Society, said: “It was a lovely way for us to start 2014. We are always very proud to show off Harwich to visiting groups but there is something particularly special about a visit from local school children.
“After all, it’s their town and we want them to grow up appreciating just how special it is.”
