TWO Constable Country river locks will be restored thanks to a £40,000 grant.
The River Stour Trust will refurbish the Flatford and Dedham Locks following the award from the Veolia Environmental Trust.
The trust is working with the Environment Agency to re-open navigation along the stretch of the Constable Country waterway.
Treasurer Gareth Cole said: "This grant is great news. It means we can push the project forward and start work on the much-needed repair and replacement of two locks which have been painted by many renowned artists in this Area of Outstanding National Beauty.”
Next year, the lock gates on Flatford Lock will be replaced before the gates on Dedham Lock are replaced and the island stabilised.
