THE death of a toddler who drowned in a swimming pool has been ruled an accident.
Alfie Hayward, three, was visiting his grandparents in Ardleigh with mum, Lauren Pither, when he fell into the pool in their back garden.
Ms Pither told an inquest she had only left him for ten minutes.
She then found the former Brantham St Michael's Pre School pupil face down in the pool, which is 6ft deep in places.
Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray yesterday recorded a verdict of accidental death.
