SPEEDING drivers are putting children’s lives at risk by ignoring a school lollipop lady.

Parents and residents are calling for urgent action to be taken in Parkeston Road, Dovercourt, amid fears a child or elderly person could be knocked over and suffer serious injuries.

They claim drivers regularly fail to stop when the lollipop lady is trying to help children cross the road and often ignore the 30mph speed limit.

Harwich County Councillor Ivan Henderson said: “They have had so many near misses. Drivers are ignoring the speed limit and ignoring the lollipop lady."
