A WOMAN who had to payout when her tyre was damaged on a ‘hazardous’ pothole has called for a council to take immediate action.

Melissa Henderson was driving down Clarkes Road in Dovercourt after dropping her son at nearby Spring Meadow School when she hit the crater on Wednesday morning.

A tyre on her car was so badly damaged it had to be replaced later that day costing Ms Henderson £55.

She says the pothole has been there for years and cars regularly have to move out into oncoming traffic to avoid the hole.

“The pothole is still getting bigger – it has been there a good couple of years,” she said.
