YOUNGSTERS tried their hand at a variety of specially crafty games as part of a half-term Morning Madness event.

Children between five and 12 years spent Wednesday morning taking part in team sports with a twist at Harwich Sports Centre in Hall Lane, Dovercourt.

Chris Chitty, duty manager at the Tendring Council owned facility, said her ball games had all been created using parts of normal sports to make them accessible for all the ages taking part.

"You don't have to be a really good sporting person to take part and they seem to love it," she said.

Mark Platt, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for leisure services, said a great deal of effort is put into running the many varied sessions for youngsters in the school holidays.
