A BRIGHT blue roundabout could soon be a thing of the past after council bosses agreed to look at a re-design.
The controversial roundabout, in Freshfields Road, Dovercourt, is one of the first things tourists see after they get off ferries at Harwich International Port.
Now the Tendring Local Highways Panel has agreed to spend £5,000 carrying out a design feasibility study to determine the cost of any future works.
County Councillor for Harwich, Ivan Henderson, put the scheme forward to the highways panel after describing the roundabout as ‘embarrassing’.
He said: “This is the funding to start the ball rolling on the design work for the future."
