PLANS for Harwich’s first bingo hall in more than 30 years could prove unlucky for some if they get given the go ahead amid fears for noise disturbance.
Owner Mike Gibbons wants to convert the former snooker hall in Kingsway into a bingo establishment.
The hall has been closed for seven years after it was found not to be a viable business.
Top Draw Bingo Ltd will operate the hall if the plans are approved by Tendring Council.
Mr Gibbons said: “There isn’t going to be much noise it is a bingo hall and is played in complete silence. We are using the amplifying equipment to put the caller’s voice around the room."
