DOG waste is spiralling out of control, blighting playing fields, the beach and the promenade.

Residents in Harwich and Dovercourt are angry irresponsible owners are flouting the rules and failing to pick up after their pets, prompting calls for a clampdown.

Harwich Town councillor Jo Henderson has called for it to be made easier for the reckless owners to be reported as the summer season approaches.

She said: “If you talk to most people in Harwich they will tell you it’s infuriating."
