CARING university students descended upon a much-loved community facility to help give it a facelift.
The Student Union vTeam from from the University of Essex grabbed their paint, brushes and rollers as part of a revamp for the kitchen and hall in the Park Pavilion in Dovercourt on Friday.
The group were taking part in volunteering week and helped to restore the facility which is used for everything from discos to table top sales, and by more than 70 groups.
Harwich and District Community Association run the building and manager Dale Cheesman was delighted with how the day went.
“We are very grateful to the student volunteers for giving up their time to help us and they certainly made a real difference,” she said.
“The association is also grateful to the Mayoresses Fund which contributed the cost of the materials for the work.”
