FUN runners still have time to enter a charity event on the streets of Harwich which could raise thousands of pounds.

Harwich and Dovercourt Rugby Club is joining forces with Harwich Runners to hold the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday March 23.

The national event sees people from all over the country swim, cycle and run in various outfits to raise cash to change disadvantage people’s lives at home and abroad.

Organiser Trevor Armstrong is hoping to see people in fancy dress on the one, three or six-mile courses which will be set up.

“Last time we had people dressed up as all sorts, everyone from cows and horses to superman turned up and took part.

“Hopefully they will turn up again because there is a such a big emphasis on fun during the whole day, even though some of the more serious runners can achieve good times.”
