Harwich and Manningtree Standard: MP hears villagers’ solar farm fears MP hears villagers’ solar farm fears

AN MP has visited four proposed solar farm sites and heard the fears of campaigners.

Residents in Wix fear the village’s green spaces could become overrun with solar panels if further applications are given the go ahead.

Work on a 60,000 panel farm at Wix Lodge has begun.

An application for a 63-acre site at Burnt Ash Farm, off Spinnels Lane has yet to be decided by Tendring Council’s planning committee after Kinetica Solar made a third amendment to the plans.

Harwich and North Essex MP Bernard Jenkin made a site visit to the four proposed farms on Friday to hear resident’s fears.

He said: “There are several large applications some of which have gone through for many solar panelled fields."
