FEARS have been raised funding for lollipop ladies could be axed putting children’s safety at risk.
School crossing patrols are one of a number of services being reviewed by County Hall in a bid to save taxpayer cash.
A letter was sent to all school crossing patrols inviting them to a briefing meeting this week.
Essex County councillor for Harwich Ivan Henderson said: "My advice and warning to councillor Bass or anyone else is you don’t risk children’s safety – that comes before any cost cutting.”
