CALLS have been made for a district council to be given the power to repair dangerous potholes.
Harwich Town Council wants Tendring Council to be given the authority and funds to fix and maintain potholes in the town.
Essex County Council currently has responsibility over highways in Essex.
Mayor Dave McLeod told a meeting on Wednesday he was getting fed up with the increasing number of holes.
He said: “How long are we going to wait for the potholes to be sorted?"
A spokesman for Essex County Council said it would not delove the power to repair potholes to Tendring Council.
