TENDRING Council planning boss Carlo Guglielmi hopes councillors will take up the option of a workshop where they will be able to learn about the enforcement process and powers the council has.
This comes after Harwich councillors called for more enforcement over derelict sites in the town.
He said: “Members must be aware and must understand enforcement must work in the perimeters of the law.
“There is a process and we are currently working towards a series of members workshops to allow them to understand how enforcement works, just having £1million in the budget does not give anyone the god given right.”
Mr Guglielmi said many of the issues surrounding untidy sites were resolved by speaking with the owners.
