A COMMUNITY choir are set to host a special evening to help raise funds for a new stage.
Harwich Sing, which boasts 147 members and counting, will be performing at the Waterfront on Marine Parade on Friday from 7.30pm There will also be a chance to mingle with members of the choir and find out more about what they do.
The group has grown hugely since they began in September 2012 and have held concerts at The Princes Theatre in Clacton, Kingsway Hall, during the Harwich Sea Festival and at Christmas Light switch-ons.
Founder Clare Leach is delighted with how the group has grown since it began and is looking forward to showing people what they can do at this event.
“We have grown so much and we really need a new stage,” she said.
“With nearly 150 members we really do need something bigger than we have because we simply cannot fit everyone on.
“This performance is going to be very social and we want to teach people a bit more about what we do."
Tickets for the social event at the Waterfront are £10 and can be purchased by calling 07554 423613.
