PLANS for two detached homes in Mistley have been refused after developers did not agree to financially contribute to a new play area in the village.
Developer Landfast applied to Tendring Council to build the two homes on part of the Mistley Marine site on Anchor Lane.
The four bedroom homes were rejected on the grounds the development would increase demand on already stretched facilities in Mistley.
Planning policy dictates that any proposals for residential devlopment on less than 1.5 hectares would need to finanically contribute towards play or formal open spaces if the current facilities are inadequate to meet the projected needs of future occupiers.
The decision said: "No such contribution has been included in this application nor has any justification for a lack of contribution. “
