OUTRAGED parents are set to storm the streets to protest against maternity unit closures.

Harwich mums have organised a protest march the day before Mothers’ Day.

They are calling on residents from both Harwich and Clacton to turn out and walk from Cliff Park, in Dovercourt, to the Fryatt Hospital, in Main Road, holding banners and posters.

Jenny Semple, one of the organisers, said the idea was to come together to campaign against the closures of the Clacton and Harwich maternity units to cover staff shortages in Colchester.

“There are so many issues they haven’t taken into consideration,” she said
