A NEW support group for parents and family carers of young disabled people is being set up in Manningtree.
The charity Papworth Trust has been handed a £43,000 cashpot from Essex County Council to start up peer support groups across the county.
The groups will be free and will give parents the chance to share experiences and concerns with others who are in a similar situation.
Run monthly they will be for the parents and family carers of disabled young people aged between five and 19.
A play and activity group for disabled young people and their siblings will run alongside the parent group, and will be facilitated by an experienced youth worker.
It is not yet known when the Manningtree group will start or where it will be based.
