A MANNINGTREE engineering company is making thousands of whistles in a bid to break a world record.
Stour Engineering is taking part in the Europe-wide world record attempt which will see 20 different countries try to create 20,000 aluminium whistles.
It is the only company in Britain to be taking part in the record attempt today.
Jenna Barker said: “The event is to give a small insight into the trade, allow them to step into a real workshop, and create their own whistle from scratch."
The event is taking place between 10am and 2pm at Stour Engineering’s workshop on Station Road, Lawford, and anyone is welcome to come along and try their hand at making a whistle.
