A PAINTING depicting the arrival of Charlotte of Mecklenburg in Harwich, just days before her marriage to George III in 1761, will be sold later this year.
The work by John Cleveley is expected to fetch between £300,000 and £500,000 when it is auctioned in London as part of the John Windeler Robertson Collection of Marine Art.
The collection of largely British pictures are thought to be worth up to £1,200,000.
The painting shows the Royal yacht, Royal Caroline, moored off the Harwich coast in early September 1761.
