A PAIR of friends are set to take on the challenge of a lifetime to raise money for a children’s hospital.
Best pals Richard Neal and Gavin Cooper of Harwich will be cycling from John o’Groats to Land’s End in honour of the Addenbrookes Rosie Maternity unit.
The charity has been chosen because staff at the centre saved Gavin’s nephew Jacob’s life after he was born prematurely at 29 weeks of pregnancy eight years ago.
Both men are funding the trips themselves and will be accompanied by their family for support.
Mr Cooper has previously raised £2,000 for the hospital by running two and a half marathons in two days but has roped in his friend this time for an even greater test of endurance.
The expedition begins on April 18 and the men are hoping to complete it within a week.
