A HUGE spring clean up has been organised in a bid to pull in the tourists this summer and revitalise a recession-hit town.
Harwich and Dovercourt will undergo a deep clean with councillors, traders, men, women and children all urged to get involved.
The area will be cleared of litter and generally tidied up to entice cruise ship passengers to venture into the town and make sure all visitors receive a warm welcome and see the area at its best.
Tendring Council has joined forces with Harwich Town Council, the Harwich Society, the Town Centre Partnership and Essex Probation Service to carry out the clean-up operation on Saturday, April 26.
People who want to take part are asked to meet up at Dovercourt Railway Station at 10am.
