BEER lovers have launched a new passport scheme aimed at promoting Tendring’s real ale pubs.

Tendring’s CAMRA branch has listed 35 “excellent” pubs selling real ale and cider it advises people to visit.

At the pubs they can ask landlords to stamp their real-ale passport, before the end of July.

Those who collect stamps from eight different pubs will get free entry and a free festival glass for either the Clacton Real Ale and Cider Festival, which runs from August 20 to 23, or the Harwich and Dovercourt Winter Ale Festival in December.

The scheme starts on Saturday and runs until the end of July.

A list of pubs taking part is available at tendringcamra.org.uk
