A NEW season of popular free walking tours are on the verge of starting again.

The Harwich Society will be hosting the mobile talks which take in all the historical locations in Old Harwich including the Electric Palace, the LV18 lightship and the Treadwheel Crane.

Society member Bernie Sadler said: “As well as being a good way to explore the historical parts of the town it is good for our guides to get some valuable experience.

“It usually takes about two hours to take in all the places of interest and we will be happy to run them however many people arrive.”

The tours begin on Saturday May 3 and run every Saturday at 2pm until October 11. Visitors are asked to meet at the visitors centre on Ha’penny Pier.
