Plans for solar farm in Ardleigh
A SOLAR farm the size of 16 football pitches could be built in Ardleigh.
Vogt Solar and Solafields Ltd have submitted plans for the farm, which would power 3,000 homes, on land at Chancery Farm off Frating Road.
The 1.7m high panels will be spread across 16.85 hectares and more than 500 new fruit trees will be planted around the site, reflecting its historical use as an orchard.
The plans been scaled down following a public consultation last year which has seen the scheme reduced in size by around 20 per cent.
