YOUNG footballers took part in a late run for Sport Relief.
Children from Dovercourt Vipers Under 12’s Blues took on a three mile course between West End beach and Stone Pier on Easter Sunday despite wet and windy conditions.
Coach Terry Fay said: “The lads never get a chance to do the mile at the same time as the rest of the country because they always have football commitments but they really wanted to do the run.”
The boys raised £232.50 which will go towards new equipment for the team and Mr Fay’s company, Stour Valley Freight, will match the amount for Sport Relief.
