NEW lifts which will make Manningtree train station disabled-friendly have been given the green light.

Tendring Council has given the plans for new passenger lifts to the underpass at the station and to move the staircase on platform two the go ahead.

Currently, wheelchair users are forced to navigate steep narrow stairs to access the subway, or wait for a station worker to escort them over the track to board London to Norwich trains or transfer from the Mayflower Line.
