TOP port owners from China and Hong Kong are set to visit Harwich as part of a UK tour.

A delegation of officials, including entrepreneurs from Quianzhou, Fujian province in South China, will be coming to the UK for four days.

They hope to look at UK ports for ideas and inspiration to model new builds back home.

But Harwich bosses are hoping to cash in on Monday’s visit to strike up international links and get Harwich recognised abroad.

Harwich Haven Authority is set to show the visitors the port by boat and the Harwich Society will be hosting a tour of historical sites in the town. The delegates will also get to look inside the LV18, the last manned lightship.
